While I don’t follow many influencers, one that I do follow and watch his content regularly is Ryan Hall, Y’all. Ryan Hall is an influencer that provides severe weather coverage, forecasts, and helpful advice for preparing for severe weather. While I mostly follow his content on YouTube, he has a presence spanning multiple social media channels including Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and X. He accepts donations for his non-profit, The Y’all Squad, that provides support for victims of severe weather events. Ryan Hall, Y’all publishes a mix of videos, shorts, and live content about upcoming severe weather to inform communities so they can better prepare and stay safe.

This influencer gained my attention several years ago when I was living in rural Missouri, in tornado alley, and the local weather reports would always fall short of providing any helpful information on the weather that would reach my house. A tornado would be coming straight toward my town and there was no local coverage that could help me prepare early enough to save myself and my family, especially in the middle of the night. Ryan Hall, Y’all fulfilled my need for staying weather alert by providing weather reports that not only focused on the severe weather events, but he streamed live to address the weather concerns as they were happening. This provided a huge advantage to be prepared ahead of the storm. With Ryan Hall, Y’all utilizing YouTube to reach his audience, it made it easy for me to share weather reports and real-time info to my family and loved ones that lived in other states that were concerned about our safety during the storms. My mom could watch the same weather report as me, at the same time, and know exactly what was happening in our hometown.

While I live in Virginia now and the weather isn’t quite as severe, I still subscribe to Ryan Hall, Y’all to stay on top of severe weather events before they reach my house, or anywhere my friends and family live. Ryan Hall, Y’all has continued to provide trustworthy weather advice, and I regularly rely on his forecasts. His reporting style is direct and to the point. He doesn’t offer opinions on other things that don’t relate to the weather to stir up controversy with his fans. He doesn’t scare people or try to gain views through being dramatic. He just provides the weather in a calm way that focuses on community safety. His content is family friendly, and he delivers forecasts in a way that are easy to follow without a lot of technical weather terms. He is very professional and interacts with his fans in a way that instills trust and integrity. Ryan Hall, Y’all also routinely seeks the advice of other influencers for weather support to showcase storms out in the field from storm chasers, as well as meteorologists that can provide professional insight into the forecast. This shows his dedication to providing accurate content that can be supported by other professionals.

Ryan Hall, Y’all promotes products for a few of his sponsors, but he is selective of the companies he endorses and focuses primarily on products he uses himself and feels comfortable supporting. The products he promotes mostly focus on community safety and severe weather preparedness such as weather alert radios and apps for weather tracking. He also promotes his own line of fun weather tools, such as the Y’all-O-Meter that measures rain and snow levels, and proceeds support his cause of helping victims of weather-related crises. Ryan Hall, Y’all invites fans to get involved with his merch and sponsored products by asking them to share their own photos and videos with them being used. He engages by asking for subscriber content of extreme weather, and he is responsive to chats where fans correct his pronunciation of cities and towns. He also engages with fans in real-time during severe weather events that cause destruction to communities to ask for donations to help those in need. His interactive live stream shows donation totals in real-time, and he thanks fans constantly for their contributions, enforcing real human interaction and care.

Ryan’s professionalism and community involvement has gained him an impressive 3.42M subscribers on YouTube, 2.1M followers on TikTok, 1.2M followers on Facebook, 440K followers on Instagram, and 502.1K followers on X (formerly Twitter). Ryan Hall, Y’all meets the needs of his fans by providing valuable and reliable weather information and providing it on multiple social platforms to reach fans in the way that is best for them and at a time when they need the information the most. He makes it easy to not only access his content but share it with others. His credibility, honesty, consistency, and dedication to providing relevant content to help the community, all contribute to his influencer success, and the success of the products he endorses. Ryan Hall Y’all’s approach to marketing and influencing in a way that delivers a positive service to the community, makes him an influencer worthy of following and supporting.
